Beavers: Great Indoors Activity Badge Stage 1 (Part 1)

In Stage 1 you’ll learn something new that can teach you something about yourself or the world around you. We've included some suggested activities for each requirement. Of course, they were designed for face-to-face Scouts, so you’ll probably need to make some tweaks. How to earn your badge: 1.        Practical skills Try one new practical skill that you can do from home Suggestion:  A knotty challenge   2.        Outdoor skills Try one new skill that would help you to explore or survive in the outdoors. Suggestion:   Craft a camp blanket  3  .   Physical activity Try one new physical activity that gets your blood pumping. Necker Flip Challenge

Place your necker on your foot, flip it up and try to catch it over your head in one go (it's harder than it looks). Film your attempt and send it to media@rushcliffescouts.org.uk or tweet us @RushcliffeScout with the hashtag #RDSNeckerFlip and we will feature some of the best attempts on our Facebook page. Everyone has a different idea of what a challenge looks like. Choose two personal challenges you'd love to accomplish and dive right in. To earn your badge, complete two challenges below activities below, we have chosen the first challenge and have some suggestions for your second challenge. Keep a record and bring in for your leaders when we return to meetings. You should choose one of the challenges and we will choose the other. The challenges should be things that you find difficult but can complete with some effort and commitment. They can be to do with any part of your life, for example home, school or Beavers. All Sections: "Scouting At Home" Badge

This is a special badge Nottinghamshire Scouts has put together to support #TheGreatIndoors! In addition to all the brilliant ideas on the Scout website ( https://www.scouts.org.uk/the-great-indoors/ ), County have put this badge together that can be awarded to our Young people once face to face scouting resumes. We would hope that every Young Person in Rushcliffe will have the opportunity to complete this badge, as it will mark the continuation of their Scouting adventure during these challenging circumstances. You will notice that part of the requirement is to design the physical badge itself. Please forward these designs to Jacob ( dyc.jacob@rushcliffescouts.org.uk ) by Wednesday 10 th  of June. The winning design from each district will receive a prize, and the overall winning design from County will receive a prize and be made into the badge itself.
