"Scouting At Home" Badge
Hello,
I hope everyone is keeping safe and well. I just wanted to let you know about the special badge Nottinghamshire Scouts has put together to support #TheGreatIndoors! In addition to all the brilliant ideas on the Scout website (https://www.scouts.org.uk/the-great-indoors/), County have put this badge together that can be awarded to our Young people once face to face scouting resumes. We would hope that every Young Person in Rushcliffe will have the opportunity to complete this badge, as it will mark the continuation of their Scouting adventure during these challenging circumstances. You will notice that part of the requirement is to design the physical badge itself. Please forward these designs to me (dyc.jacob@rushcliffescouts.org.uk) by Wednesday 10th of June. The winning design from each district will receive a prize, and the overall winning design from County will receive a prize and be made into the badge itself. When face to face Scouting resumes, groups will be able to order these badges free of charge from County for those Young People who have achieved them.
Additionally, for Explorers, County are looking for designs for the front of a certificate to Recognise the “Time In Scouting” you have given from being in Beavers to the end of Explorers. It should be in an A4 format, include the County Logo, space for the name, Explorer Unit and District of the recipient and space for the County Commissioner to sign and date it. The rest is up to you. Please send any designs to the County Office or me (dyc.jacob@rushcliffescouts.org.uk) by end of April.
Any questions, or if I can help at all to help you continue to provide amazing Youth Shaped Scouting don’t hesitate to get in touch! Also, we are still looking for a Deputy DYC – if you or anyone you know might be interested or wants to know more, please get in touch!
Yours in Scouting, stay safe,
Jacob Piechota, District Youth Commissioner
